OUR GRATITUDE, OUR COMMITMENT
Our boga! number 14 is a small report of the 'Internationalism Day', a political and festive day that Askapena celebrates every year. In this boga!we also collect all (?) the messages, and expressions of support and solidarity that you have sent to us after the judicial and political attack against 8 internationalist militants, who are now waiting for a trial at the Spanish National Court. Six of them are in prison.Internazionalista Eguna
Our commitment.
Our commitment is to keep on working Internationalism in Euskal Herria. Solidarity, empathy, tenderness among peoples and individuals is essential in this savage capitalist world. Despite the blow, Askapena answered with the Internazionalista Eguna ['Internationalism Day'], that on October 16 gathered hundreds of people in Ziortza-Bolibar and Gernika-Lumo.
The slogan this year was herriok independentzia! [Independence for the people] and in the 200 anniversary of the 'first' independence of many nations of Abya-Yala (of Latin America), it claimed the second and definitive independence: the one that frees the native peoples, men and women workers, from imperialist transnationals, from oppressors states, from foreigners or local oligarchs. We vindicate the driving forces of this second independence: women, native peoples, the Bolivarian revolution, the insurgency in Colombia, Cuba, the popular sectors in struggle ...
Some days before we had talks about the Mapuche people, Venezuela, Argentina, Uruguay, Puerto Rico (Dora y Jorge , from the Communist Party of Puerto Rico, were with us), Bolivia (Ramiro Lizondo, Director of Planning of the Ministry of the Presidency, was also with us ). Zapatista comrades, Colombian refugees, Guarani,Peruvian and Palestinians comrades also attended the Internazionalista Eguna.
All together we did a tribute to Simon Bolivar in the Basque town where his family is from: Bolibar.
Political information from different peoples was available during the day, there were Guarani dances, Palestinian falafel, Basque food and music ... In the evening there was a demonstration and a political rally in which Alfonso Sastre took part with a message read by his son Juan ('Viva la internacional') ['Long live international'], and also David from Friends of Euskal Herria of Germany. Relatives of the arrested in the raid against Askapena were also there. Finally, the video 'herriok independentzia!' was launched during the rally.

Our gratitude.
We apologize in advance, because we are sure that we will forget some messages of solidarity as there have been so many. In any case, we would like to thank our people first, Euskal Herria, which once again reacted taking to the streets, showing its solidarity to the relatives of the detainees, and going to Madrid and Pau to be with them when they had to go before the judge. Thousands of people have denounced the arrests in the streets of Durango, Irun, Algorta Iru�ea, Gasteiz, Barakaldo, Hondarribia...
