Warm greetings of solidarity!
Two years has swiftly passed and we hardly noticed it�s the beginning of a new chapter of our Alliance. We are glad to announce that we are going to hold the 12th Congress of the UNIFIL-MIGRANTE-HK on 28 November 2010, 12:00 � 5:00PM at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Room N002, Lim Por Yen Lecture Theater in Hung Hom, Kowloon.�
Certainly, there�s a lot to look forward to in the 12th Congress program, highlights of which include achievements and victories of the Alliance for the past 25 years since its founding. This biennial gathering will also bring in around 300 people representing our 30-affiliate organizations, four sister-federations, alliances and union and other allied groups.
With the theme "Likhain ang daluyong ng kilusang migrante sa HK laban sa mga atake sa ating kabuhayan, kagalingan at karapatan! Umambag sa pagpapalakas ng pambansa at pandaigdigang kilusang pagpapalaya at pagbabagong panlipunan!" (Create the upsurge of the migrant's movement in HK against attacks to our livelihood, welfare, and rights! Contribute to the strengthening of the national and international movement for liberation and social changes!), we hope to consolidate and prepare the Alliance, our allies and the Filipino migrants' movement in Hong Kong in facing bigger challenges ahead, to achieve more victories and to boldly advance the migrants' movement to a higher level.
To grace this occasion, we have invited as keynote speaker Dr. Carol Pagaduan Araullo, the Chairperson of the multi-sectoral alliance Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (BAYAN - New Patriotic Alliance) in the Philippines and concurrently the Vice Chairperson of the International League of Peoples Struggle (ILPS).
In this connection, we are requesting for your message of solidarity. Your expression of support and solidarity will surely contribute in ensuring the success of this historic gathering of our Alliance.
We will appreciate if you can send your messages of solidarity to us via e-mail attachment with your letterhead to "secretariat@unifil.org.hk" or to "unifil.migrante.hk@gmail.com" on or before November 23 so we can include them with the documents to be distributed to the delegates.
